Welcome to Pack 1155!

Who we are...

Sponsored by Marine Corp Detachment #1155, we are Brentwood's longest running Cub Scout pack still in existence (formerly Pack 93).  Although most boys in the pack attend Ron Nunn and Loma Vista Elementary Schools, we welcome boys from any area school and faith.

What we do...

Along with two to three den meetings per month (made up of 6 - 10 boys), the pack (made up of several dens) meets the first Tuesday evening of every month during the school year at Vets Hall in Brentwood.  Other activities are scheduled throughout the year, such as a Pinewood Derby, and an overnite stay at places like the USS Hornet or Chabot Space Center.  Because Cub Scouts is a year-round program, optional outdoor summertime activities usually include things like Twilight (day) Camp, bike rodeo, family camping, hiking and Scout Days at the ballpark, plus much more!

Why Cub Scouts?

For over 100 years, Boy Scouts of America has been a foundation of development for millions of boys, helping them become men of strong values and character.  The cornerstone of that foundation is Cub Scouting, a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first through fifth grade (or ages 7, 8, 9, and 10). Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting, which are:
Character Development
Spiritual Growth
Good Citizenship
Sportsmanship and Fitness
Family Understanding
Respectful Relationships
Personal Achievement
Friendly Service
Fun and Adventure
Preparation for Boy Scouts
Character Connections

Annual Membership update

Posted on Apr 21 2012 - 10:59pm

At our recent planning meeting, Pack Leadership voted for an increase in dues this coming year to better cover our expenses and maintain reserve funds.  $97 for Cub Scouts and $71 for Webelos 2's who will be crossing over into Boy Scouts in February/March of 2013.  We hope this will bring less pressure on our fundraising efforts next year, as well.  Even with this increase, Cub Scouting remains a great value as a year-round program, as compaired to many sports programs. Payments are due August 1st, but you may pay early to avoid back-to-school expenses around the same time of year.  Payments are now accepted via PayPal, and may be submitted using the Annual Membership link on the menu on the left of your screen.

Friends of Scouting

Posted on Apr 21 2012 - 9:43pm

It is this time of year that we bring attention to Friends of Scouting (FOS).  You should have received a letter from the Cubmaster this week.  If you haven't already, please return your commitment card.  Even if you are not able to give at this time, we need your card back to avoid a solicitation call later in the year from the Council.  You can turn it in to your Den Leader, or mail it directly to the Council office.  You may also donate directly at www.bsa-mdsc.org/donate .  If your company offers matching funds, please consider including that option.  Learn more about FOS...
